in child development, you learn about how a child develops between conception and 5 years old usually. you will learn about normal development and disorders that change development. you might also learn about gender identity and child abuse.

you will probably have to do 2 projects. this could be finding an article about child development and then telling the class what the article was about during a 5 minute presentation. it’s really not a big deal.

regarding your writing ability. if you were an okay writer in high school, then you will do just fine in college. there really is no difference, but as you go through college you will learn more about writing. if you are trying to get a degree, then you will have to take an english class. this class will teach you more things about writing.

I took child development online through a community college course and I had to do 3 case studies, take 4 tests, and participate in a discussion board. The tests were easy and the case studies weren’t particularly difficult- just time consuming.

You will probably have to write case studies, most if not all child development courses require it.

The different between a high school level and a college level tends to be length and “meat” of the paper. It’s not all fluff anymore, dear!

The difference between high school and college writing is first of all, the use correct use of punctuation. Like having capitals at the beginning of your sentences! Also, correct grammar would help (is there a lot of essays?)

If your current writing is similar to what you just wrote, I would suggest that you take a writing remediation course before you do anything else. The way you are writing is not acceptable in college. I know because the first paper I wrote left out a lot of punctuation and even though it was a good paper, I got an “F” and got yelled at by the professor!

You may want to look online for some graphic organizers to help you organize your essays and case studies. Otherwise you are doomed. Try this website.
